Trump Digital Gold TDGOLD, a digital gold token on Stellar
Trump Digital Gold (TDGOLD) is a fixed supply digital gold token on the Stellar network. There are 6,830,000,000 of them, one for every troy ounce of gold humanity has ever pulled out of the ground, and the issuing account is locked, so that number can never move.
Gold backing is phase four of the roadmap, and every step toward it will be published there as it lands. Wondering whether TDGOLD is legit, who publishes this and whether it is safe to hold? That is who runs this project, the questions people ask most and what can go wrong.
The asset
Verify TDGOLD before you trade it
Asset codes on Stellar are not unique. Anyone can issue a token called TDGOLD. The issuing account below is the only thing that separates the real one from a copy, so check it character for character every time. There is a four-step verification guide if you want to do it properly. If you came looking for a token address to paste, a Stellar asset does not have one, and the account below is what does that job instead.

Why Stellar
Why this gold token runs on Stellar
Fees you can ignore
The network fee is 0.00001 XLM per operation. Not a percentage, not a gas auction, just a flat fraction of a cent, whether you move ten tokens or ten million.
Exchange built in
Stellar has an order book at the protocol level. TDGOLD trades against XLM natively, in your own wallet, with no bridge and no custodian holding your keys.
Supply you can audit
A locked issuer is not a policy, it is a state on the ledger. The account holds no key that can sign a new payment, so the supply is arithmetically incapable of growing, and you can confirm that on the ledger yourself.
Getting in
How to buy TDGOLD in five steps
- 1
Get a Stellar wallet
Install Lobstr on your phone or Freighter in your browser, or just open StellarTerm in a tab. Write the recovery phrase down on paper and keep it offline. Nobody from this project will ever ask you for it.
- 2
Fund it with XLM
Buy Stellar Lumens on any exchange that lists them and withdraw to your wallet address. Send at least 5 XLM: Stellar keeps 1 XLM locked as a base reserve, each trustline locks another 0.5, and you want change left over to actually trade with.
- 3
Add the TDGOLD trustline
In your wallet, find Add asset or Manage trustlines and enter the asset code TDGOLD together with the issuing account below. Paste the issuer, never type it from memory. This step is what lets your account hold the token at all.
- 4
Verify before you trade
Open the asset on Stellar.Expert and confirm the issuing account matches character for character. Asset codes are not unique on Stellar - the issuer is the only thing that separates the real token from a copy.
- 5
Swap XLM for TDGOLD
Place a market or limit order on the Stellar decentralised exchange, in your wallet or on StellarTerm. Confirm the transaction. Settlement takes about five seconds and the network fee is a fraction of a cent.
Step three trips people up the most, and the full buying guide walks through it in order. Step one is easier once you know which wallets can hold an arbitrary Stellar asset, and what to do when you want out is in the selling guide. Terms like trustline and issuing account are defined in the Stellar glossary.
Start holding Trump Digital Gold
Add the trustline, verify the issuing account, then trade TDGOLD against XLM on the Stellar exchange. No sign-up and no custodian.
